Our extra-curricular highlights
Sports and Physical Activities
At The Grange Public School, we are proud to promote a strong culture of physical health and well-being. We encourage all students to take part in sports and physical activities, fostering a lifelong love for movement and fitness.
We believe that participation in sport not only enhances physical health but also builds teamwork, resilience, and a positive attitude toward maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Our school proudly competes in PSSA (Primary Schools Sports Association) competitions, giving students the opportunity to represent the school and challenge themselves at various levels. We nurture each student’s sporting talents by offering pathways for continued participation through representative teams, training sessions, and local competitions.
Through our diverse sports programs, students develop their skills, confidence, and sense of teamwork, whether they’re playing as part of a team or competing individually. At The Grange Public School, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every student can thrive, stay active, and discover their potential through sport.
Debating and Public Speaking
At The Grange Public School, we take pride in developing confident, articulate, and critical thinkers through our debating and public speaking programs. Students are encouraged to express their ideas clearly, listen respectfully to others, and build confidence in communicating their viewpoints.
Through participation in school and interschool competitions, students learn the importance of teamwork, research, and respectful argument. Our programs provide valuable opportunities for students to strengthen their speaking skills, think creatively, and engage thoughtfully with real-world issues.
We believe that fostering effective communication empowers our students to become leaders, problem solvers, and active contributors to their communities, both now and in the future.
Enrichment Clubs
At The Grange Public School, we offer a variety of clubs that cater to a wide range of student interests and passions. These clubs may run before school or during lunch breaks, depending on the needs of each group.
Our dedicated staff share their time and expertise by leading clubs centred around their own interests, giving students additional opportunities to learn, create, and explore in a fun and engaging environment.
Our clubs encourage friendship, teamwork, and a strong sense of community, while helping students discover new hobbies, develop valuable skills, and build lasting connections with their peers.
Transition to High School Programs
At The Grange Public School, we value strong community partnerships and work closely with our feeder High School to ensure a smooth transition to secondary education.
Our partnership begins with students in Stage 2 and Stage 3, providing opportunities to connect with their local high school. Students engage in activities such as visiting the high school, participating in lessons, and building relationships with both staff and students.
This collaborative approach helps students feel confident, prepared, and supported as they move into the next stage of their learning journey.
Leadership Opportunities
At The Grange Public School, we believe in empowering students to take on leadership roles and make a positive contribution to our school community. Leadership opportunities include School Leaders, Student Leaders, Parliament members, Library Monitors, and Sporting House Captains.
These roles allow students to develop confidence, responsibility, and teamwork while supporting their peers and helping shape school life. Through leadership, students learn valuable skills in communication, organization, and decision-making, preparing them to be active, responsible, and engaged members of the wider community.
Trips and Excursions
At The Grange Public School, we enrich learning through excursions and incursions that bring the curriculum to life. Excursions give students the chance to explore new environments, experience real-world learning, and connect classroom lessons to the wider community.
Our incursions bring experts, performers, and interactive experiences into the school, offering hands-on learning opportunities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and engagement.
These experiences not only enhance students’ knowledge and skills but also encourage teamwork, social development, and a sense of adventure, making learning both meaningful and memorable.
